About Our House Press

Since 2001, the volunteer Building Steward at a 115 year old church in Seattle's University District, replaced, renovated, or remodeled every major system and component of the church buildings, from rewiring the building to a new heating system to a new roof to renovating the stained glass windows. The Social Hall remodel included asbestos abatement, renovating bathrooms, and creating new storage areas. After working with construction professionals who taught her along the way, Liz Osborne decided it was time to share what she had learned with other lay volunteers.

The author of three healthcare administration books and five novels, she has written Our House of Worship: How to Identify Major and Minor Maintenance Needs and Our House of Worship: How to Manage Major Maintenance and Remodel Projects to help other lay volunteers update and maintain their church facilities.
